BECOME A MEMBER

1. (a) The members of ARDAA shall consist of individuals, corporations and groups interested in furthering the development of Adal community. There are six (6) classes of membership each with voting privileges:

Individuals over 18 year of age and interested in promoting the development of the community and supporting the mission of the organization.

Non-profit organizations, associations, educational institutions, and foundations that provide community and economic development services in Adal regions

Commercial businesses, firms, and establishments and Corporations

Students who are recognized as full-time at educational institutions

Seniors citizens

Honorary members who are ex-ARDAA board members and Volunteers and shall be appointed by a majority of a properly constituted meeting of the board of directors.

2. All applications for membership shall be made on the prescribed application form and directed to the chairperson of the chapter’s membership committee who will at the earliest opportunity or at the next scheduled chapters’ directors meeting, make a recommendation to the chapters’ board of directors to accept or reject such application.

(a) The chapter board of directors shall have the authority (by majority vote) to accept or reject the application with clear written reasons.

(b) In the event of denial of an application for membership by either the chapter membership or the chapter board of directors the applicant shall be entitled to call for a hearing by the central board of directors through Member at Large to reconsider the rejected application. 

CERTICATE OF MEMBERSHIP

3. The membership committee of the chapter board of directors shall issue a certificate of membership to each member; such certificate is to bear the ARDAA Seal and attested by the signatures of the president of the chapter board of directors and chairperson of the chapter’s membership committee.

(a)   Upon payment of annual dues and after meeting of all requirements of membership, the board of directors shall cause a seal or card of membership in Association to be issued each year to all members of the Association indicating their membership.

(b) Membership in ARDAA is yearly, for twelve (12) months beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31 of the calendar year. No new memberships with voting privileges will be accepted after the notice for the Annual General Meeting is mailed until the meeting is held.

(c) The Board of Directors will set the membership fees. Notwithstanding anything in this section, no one will be refused membership because his or her financial situation prevents them from paying the membership fee.

(d) Membership may be terminated if a person resigns, dies or is expelled from the corporation because of violation of ARDAA’s mission or policies.
